Age-Group Nationals are cancelled!!! Sharks rinks are closed March 13-22, 2020. (updated)
US Speedskating confirmed today that Short Track Age-Group Nationals is CANCELLED. Sharks Ice confirmed today that their 3 rinks will be closed March 13-22. This update was given to us by Sharks Ice management on 3/14/20. The Sharks Ice rinks are Oakland, San Jose and Fremont. Stay Healthy, everyone.
Just like we learned in kindergarten – wash your hands, don’t touch your face. Shelter in place. Drop and Roll. Don’t talk to strangers.
UPDATE from Sharks Ice:
“Today, several counties and municipalities placed more severe restrictions on public gatherings and announced broad-sweeping closures of public facilities. After much consideration, the Sharks Ice Network of rinks (Solar4America Ice at San Jose and Fremont and the Oakland Ice Center) have chosen to remain closed through Sunday March 22nd. Before re-opening, we will reassess the then-current local, state and federal guidelines and recommendations. We appreciate our customers’ patience and understanding as we move forward on a week by week basis.
Until we determine the exact date for re-opening, we are unable to provide a cohesive plan for rescheduling and/or other compensatory measures for missed events. Thank you for your understanding in this regard.
The health and safety of our patrons and employees are paramount, and we are happy to do our part to try to limit the spread of COVID-19 in our communities.
We thank you for your continued support and look forward to seeing you back at the rinks as soon as possible.”
